Competitor or Colleague

Do you communicate with other nail technicians, whether they are from your city or another? ⠀

I do, mostly with technicians from other cities, but also from my own. They are awesome! We have our own chat where we share tips, secrets, help each other, and grow together. ⠀

Unfortunately, many technicians in my home city, due to low self-esteem, see each other only as competitors. At one point, I got disgusted because the technicians I used to talk to started bad-mouthing each other. ⠀

There’s even a chat where all this 💩 is brewing. They bash competitors in this chat and also gossip about each other outside of it. When you hear about this through a third party, you think, "Why bother? It stinks here." 😂 ⠀

Many of them teach and consider themselves top-tier, having given themselves this title. However, they struggle with nail shapes and can’t do a proper square. And, of course, if you check their followers, 80% are fake. 🤦🏻‍♀️ (I do this when looking for collaborations and checking the statistics of other pages.) 😋 ⠀

Such people often cling to their "secret gold" and live in fear of losing it. "Mine, mine, mine." ⠀
We live in the internet age, where everyone shares information about their tools, where to buy things, how to do things. There are live streams and webinars. ⠀
I’m glad I communicate with technicians who are higher-level both in skill and mindset. I’ve noticed that the more skilled the specialist, the simpler and more open they are!! ❤
